Plastic surgery is a special field of study that can be broadly divided into reconstructive plastic surgery and aesthetic plastic surgery depending on the purpose of surgery.

As the demand in this field are on the rise, it has become one of the essential fields in advanced medicine.

The Division of Plastic Surgery at Yonsei University College of Medicine opened its doors and started practicing in 1961 as the first plastic surgery division in Korea.

In 1964, Dr.

visited the school to give a special lecture on the overall field of plastic surgery, which resulted in the creation of a plastic surgery class in the surgery studies course.

Celebrating our history with pride, we strive to cultivate the best medical professionals with the latest technology in all fields of plastic surgery.

Our faculty are also putting effort into the research and development of new technologies, and their research outcomes have gained domestic and international recognition.

Beyond all of this, we also hope to cultivate medical professionals who can treat patients’ wounded hearts by teaching our students the healing art of medicine.
