The College of Nursing at Yonsei University is the first and most prestigious
nursing education establishment in Korea. Over its 100 year history, starting in
1906 at Severance Hospital, graduates of the College have gone on to become
outstanding professional nurses working as nursing educators, entrepreneurs,
welfare administrators and clinical nurses in fields such as medicine, academics,
education and business.

In accordance with the needs of the Korean people, graduates continually
contribute to improving the health and quality of life of the people of Korea
and of many other countries. Many graduates of the College of Nursing are
acknowledged leaders in nursing and society. Moreover, in 1988 the College of
Nursing was designated as the first World Health Organization (WHO)
Collaborating Center for Research and Training for Nursing Development in
Primary Health Care in Korea, and contributed to the globalization of nursing by serving as the Secretariat of the Global Network of all nursing collaborating centers from 1994 to 1998.

The College of Nursing promotes exchange programs both faculty and student exchanges, academic exchanges and joint degree programs with prestigious nursing colleges overseas, including the Universities of Illinois, Nebraska, and Cincinnati, Mahidol University and Emory University.
